CONVENTION PLANNING

This group of volunteers consists of previous well-seasoned convention chairs and MSRAL Officers  to help any one planning a regional convention.  It will be an open discussion, provide assistance on any facet of planning, lessons learned, budget planning, site selection, speaker gathering, giveaways, AOY Committee and award process, meal plans, caterer selection, tourism ideas, website ideas, add submission to the Reflector, bylaws and standing resolution clarifications and a Convention Chair and Committee guidance, encouragement and sounding board.

This group of volunteers consists of observatory directors, personal observatory owners who will share set up, design and building, operating, equipment, imaging, public outreach, upgrading, imtegrating EAA, developing a operation team, and best policy and practices.

ELECTRONIC ASSISTED ASTRONOMY

This group of volunteers consists of electronic assisted astronomers who will help any person, group, or observatory to develop this program.  They will help strategize, recommend best pricing of equipment, budget planning, tech and equipment evaluation and selection options, software, DIY options, set-up and working with the public for outreach, best policy and practices in conducting EAA.

OUTREACH

This group is for any person, group or club large or small to encourage sidewalk astronomy, school visits, library visits, etc., working with students and teachers, senior population, (see accessible group) working with public and city considerations, working with officials or corporate sponsors, how to gather volunteers, how to convert visitors to club members, and best policy and practices.

ACCESSIBLE ASTRONOMY

This group of volunteers will offer ideas, equipment repurposing, resources, and planning for blind/legally blind, deaf/hard of hearing impaired, special needs, autistic, ADD/ADHD, non-ambulatory community persons.  Also, how to consider starting to develop a strategy and plan for observatories, classrooms and sidewalk astronomy will also be discussed.
